KCBS BackYard Series Contest
2 Meats – Pork Ribs & Beef Tri-Tip
Event Details
- Grass Spaces Surrounded by Old Growth Redwoods
- Real bathrooms (& portables!)
- Short walk from all team sites to INDOOR Judging
- Thursday/Friday/Saturday Arrival & Monday Departure no problem
- Train tickets are included with every team entry! (>$100 value)

- Tasting tickets being sold in advance of the event by the host
- A completed W-9 form is required for us to issue ANY payments. We will also have them on site so as not to delay any payments.
We will provide you the contestant with:
- 20’x25’ area for BBQ cooks, limited larger size spaces available
- The availability to set up your booth on Friday/Saturday or Sunday morning
- Standardized containers for your entries
- Awards for both categories
- Hundreds of spectators
- Live music, vendors, food and beer
- We will award a top 3 in each category and top 2 overall
- Contestants are not required to cook all categories
As a contestant you will provide:
- All cooking essentials, seasoning, sauce, supplies
- All cooking must be done using wood, pellet, or charcoal
- NO gas, propane grills or electric heat sources can be used (to cook/hold meat)
- Pop up tent and booth decorations/supplies
- Meat for the competition: tri-tip, pork ribs
- All cooking and prep must done on site
- Cooking and turn in times will be sent to you once you register
